Part of: Saturday Talks
'Seeing into the life of things'
The Wordsworth Museum
14 January 2017
2.00 - 4.00pm
A 16th-century aumbry owned by the Wordsworth family and a 17th-century chest belonging to Reverend ‘Wonderful’ Walker of Seathwaite, to whom Wordsworth dedicated one of the Duddon sonnets, are just two of the treasures on display in the Wordsworth Museum.
While the museum is closed for cleaning and conservation, we will take the opportunity to spend an afternoon in the company of local furniture restorer Frank Wood to take a close look at these pieces and others. Frank will talk us through a detailed examination of the furniture and offer fascinating insights into their construction and history.
