The Poetry Business International Book & Pamphlet Competition was the first of its kind in Britain. Now in its 32nd year, it has launched the careers of many successful poets, and the annual winners’ reading at the Wordsworth Trust has become an important date in the contemporary poetry calendar.

There are four winners, chosen by Liz Berry and David Constantine: Rebecca Cullen, Ann Gray, Christopher North and Madeleine Wurzberger.  More information about them and their award-winning poems can be found here.

They will read a selection of their own work alongside the three winners of the new Laureate’s Prize, judged by Carol Ann Duffy. The Laureate’s Prize will be announced in late June.

This is a fantastic opportunity to hear great up-and-coming contemporary poets in Grasmere, and we do hope you’ll join us.
