Gifts inspired by Wordsworth
One of the Summer People
Anyone who loves Wordsworth's words, and the Lake District where they were written, should treasure the Wordsworth Trust and its inspiring work.
Sir Ian McKellen
Dove Cottage is a uniquely special place.
A place where you can see Wordsworth's original words, in the Lake District landscape that largely inspired them. A place to leave your daily pressures behind, to reflect, to spark your imagination, and to discover, just as Wordsworth himself did, "that nowhere can be found / the one sensation that is here".
It costs £4,000 a day to keep this place special. This is more than we can make in shop and ticket sales. Make a donation in one of the ways described here, and you will be supporting a place that brings art and literature alive, for people of all ages and backgrounds.
A Window of Opportunity
Give today and you can double our money!
The easiest way of supporting the Wordsworth Trust right now is to make a donation to our endowment appeal. Every donation is helping to unlock match funding from the UK Government, via Arts Council England. A total of £1 million in match funding is available. This is a substantial sum for a small organisation like the Wordsworth Trust, enough to make a significant difference to our work.
Your donation will have a lasting impact. It will help protect the Wordsworth Trust against unforeseen circumstances, and ensure that we can go on making a positive difference to people’s lives.
The match funding is only available until 31 July 2015. Please donate now to help us make the most of this window of opportunity.
You can donate by text, by ’phone, by post or online. Find out how.
