Guide to online events

Wordsworth Grasmere uses Eventbrite to host our online events. Each event has its own online event page on Eventbrite, which is where you will go to watch the event.

If you don’t usually attend online events on Eventbrite, please read this guide carefully. There are two sections: ‘How to book a ticket on Eventbrite’ and ‘Accessing the online event’.

How to book a ticket on Eventbrite

  1. Click on the ticket booking link on the Wordsworth Grasmere website. This will take you to Eventbrite, where you can purchase your ticket. The Eventbrite page will look something like the image below.
  2. Before purchasing your ticket, log in to your Eventbrite account. If you don’t have an Eventbrite account, please create one. You will need an account so that you can access the event.
  3. If the event that you are booking a ticket for uses Zoom, make sure that your Zoom account and your Eventbrite account use the same name and email address. If you don’t have a Zoom account yet, this is a good time to create one. Find out more about Zoom by clicking here.
  4. You can now proceed with booking your ticket. When you have booked your ticket, you will receive an email confirmation. If it has been a couple of hours and you still haven’t received an email confirmation, you can find further instructions by clicking here.
  5. In the days leading up to the event, you will receive reminder emails from Eventbrite which may also contain additional information.

Accessing the online event

  1. Our online events are all hosted on Eventbrite, even the ones that use Zoom. You will not receive separate joining information for an event, such as a link to a Zoom meeting. Instead, your emails from Eventbrite will include an orange button that will allow you to access the online event page.
  2. Please check that you can access the online event page well in advance of the event. Click on the orange button in your confirmation email and you will be taken to the online event page. You should see information about the event, and a countdown to the start date. It will look like this:
  3. If you click on the link to the online event page and there is an image of a padlock (see next image), please follow the instructions below.

    a) Sign in with the Eventbrite account that you used to purchase the ticket. You will now be able to access the online event page.
    b) If you purchased a ticket without creating an Eventbrite account, you must follow the steps on screen to create a new account using the email address associated with your ticket. You will now be able to access the online event page.
    c) If neither of these methods work, contact us as soon as possible.
  4. On the day of the event, go to the online event page a few minutes before the event start time. When the event is just about to begin a ‘join now’ button will appear. Click on this to join the event.
  5.  If you accidentally delete an important email, you can also find the link to the online event page on the Eventbrite booking page. Log in to your Eventbrite account and you will be able to see a button that says ‘access the event’ on the right side of the booking page. Click this:
