Christmas Celebration: Dorothy Wordsworth’s 250th Birthday

On Christmas Day it’s Dorothy’s Wordsworth’s 250^th birthday! Join in with a very special celebration, get creative, and have a lot of fun.

Find out how Dorothy, William Wordsworth’s sister, celebrated her birthdays when she lived in Dove Cottage. We’ll read some of her birthday journal entries and then try some Georgian Christmas crafts including making pomanders and garlands and decorating gingerbread. There will even be the chance to learn a traditional Cumbrian step dance.

For families with children of all ages. To maintain social distancing we will be booking no more than 6 families for this session. Parking is free for this event.

There is another session at 2.00pm on the same date.

Bring a suitable face mask/covering. Adults and children aged 11+ are requested to wear a mask if accessing indoor areas.
