Join storyteller Jessie McMeekin for a special family tour of the gardens and grounds at Wordsworth Grasmere. There’ll be a fun craft to do, and biscuits and squash, then we’ll be out exploring. We’ll stop for stories in some of Dorothy and William’s favourite spots, spending time discovering the small details of nature that made this corner of Grasmere such a special place for them.
After booking, please email education@wordsworth.org.uk and let us know the number and age of the children you wish to bring, as well as details of any other adults planning to attend.
What else you need to know
Some of these routes include steps and are not accessible for pushchairs.
No dogs unless they are assistance dogs.
Suitable for children aged 5+.
What to bring and wear
Come dressed for the weather forecast – this event will go ahead if it’s raining!
Adults – bring a portable camping chair you can carry if you don’t like standing for long periods, we can provide sitting mats for children.

Jessie McMeekin is an environmental storyteller and musician, who has spent her life working in and for the natural world. She loves traditional folk tales which help us connect to nature, and the power that stories have to help us make sense of the earth and our place in it. She’s lived in Cumbria since 2008.
