Paint Like a Georgian Artist!

Learn how artists 250 years ago used Claude glasses to create their pictures. A Claude glass is a convex mirror on black foil about 4 inches wide, designed to ‘gather every scene reflected in it into a tiny picture’.

Join experts Alex McKay and Suzanne Matheson for a brief introduction to Claude glasses. We’ll then head out into the Sensory Garden for children to have a go at creating a watercolour painting using one of these Georgian mirrors. No painting experience necessary!
